Alex McLeod

Here is just a little taste of Alex's work. It is stunning! You have a few chances to see it in person, which I recommend doing. Alex is really nice, funny, talented guy. Read the interview I did with him to see what I mean.

Allison Manch

I found out about Allison Manch through the Design for mankind website. Her subject matter for her art/crafting is totally my taste. It really is not traditional embroidery...which I like. Hopefully you will check out more of her neat work.

I've been tagged!

What is your current obsession?
Well, it would have to be watching Summer Heights High.

What is your weirdest obsession?
I don't know...maybe that is weird.

What are you wearing today?
Over-sized plaid tunic, with black leggings and flats.

What's for dinner?
Good question...umm, veggie dumplings.

What would you eat for your last meal?
Well it would have to be homemade bread, some kind of soup with sweet potato, and really good wine.
Also a yummy pie, either, key-lime or pumpkin.

What's the last thing you bought?
I think it was a comic book, by Julie Doucet.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Watching Mythbusters...

What is your favorite ice-cream flavour?
oh no...so hard to choose. Birthday cake is really sweet, you can find it at Film Buff on Roncesvalle.

What do you think of the person who tagged you?
She is really talented, and super nice. And also makes really pretty things....Miss Crowland

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?
It would be here in Toronto. I would not know what to do with all the extra space. I would make sure it was full of lovely things. It would be charming, and definitely have a garden.

Which language do you want to learn?
Japanese.

Who do you want to meet right now?
That is a tough one...I would like to meet Beth Ditto.

Who do you secretly want to be friends with?

My BF's brown leather belt. I wear it with all my skirts.

And if I had any left over, I would buy nice flowers.

Favorite designer?
I guess it would be Marc Jacobs... I can't afford designer clothes.

Do you admire any one's style?
My friends.

Describe your personal style?
Lately I have been dressing like an old lady...High waisted skirts, and blouses. With black tights seem to be the norm. Also I love cardigans. Never to dressy, but no sweat pants!

What are you going to do after this?
Make a snack and look at pretty art online.

What are your favourite movies?
Stranger than Fiction, About a boy, Buffalo 66, ELF, The Royal Tenenbaums, Heathers...and so on.

What's your favourite fruit?
Bananas.

What inspires you?
Everything.

Marta is a good friend of mine, and is such a great artist. She does so many different things, printmaking, bookbinding, painting, drawing and makes zines! She is such a crafty lady.
Keep an eye out for her book that is coming out in fall ( I will let you know when does come out).
